SanDisk to mass-produce 43nm NAND flash
Posted by LiNTEKFeb 7
Sandisk is now expanding its NAND flash portfolio and is ready to begin mass-production of 43nm (nanometer) multi-level cell (MLC) NAND flash memory. Sandisk’s latest shrinkage of chip features can double the density per chip compared to the previous 56nm process.

The shrinkage is a good news to SSDs (Solid State Drives) and thumb drives which are the number one beneficiary of this latest breakthrough. Flash-based storage requires very little amount of power and the shrinkage will further make these devices even more power friendly. The shrinkage will also allow SSDs to increase data density, making them more technically attractive than the mechanical disks.
