Dell unveiled a fully rugged version of its Latitude laptop, the XFR D630 which targets customers who need a computer that can sustain any damage inflicted upon it. Dell says that this new notebook meets MIL-STD 810F standards from the Department of Defense making it a top choice for military and police officers.

According to Dell, the Latitude XFR D630 offers 23% better system performance than its competitor, the Panasonic Toughbook CF-30.

Like the Panasonic Toughbook, Dell’s Latitude XFR D630 is built with a thick die cast magnesium alloy chassis, sealed keyboard and port covers along the sides to stand up to extreme weather conditions.

The XFR D360 features a 14.1-inch display, available with a variety of dual-core Intel Core 2 Duo processors as fast as 2.4 GHz, includes an 80GB hard drive and can be equipped with as much as 4GB of RAM.

Dell Latitude XFR D630 is now available with a starting price of $3,899.
