goosh.org is a very impressive “UNIX-like command-line interface for Google”, definitely for unix and linux geeks like you and mewho are not impressed with fancy UI.
Below is what you’ll see when you go to the website:
==========

The website is very useful, there are different types of searches you can do using goosh.org, some of them are listed below:
- “web [search]” - Google
- “images [search]” - Google Images
- “blog [search]” - Google (Blogs)
- “feed [search]” - Google (Feeds)
- “video [search]” - Google Video
- “place [search]” - Google Maps
- “wiki [search]” - Wikipedia
- “lucky [search]” - Redirects to the first result (I’m Feeling Lucky)
- “read [RSS URL]” - Reads an RSS feed
- “addengine” - Adds Goosh to the Firefox search bar
The most interesting part of goosh is that it’s 100% command-line and the results are presented in a very nice format. I believe Google will be very interested in the geeks behind goosh.org.

In an unprecedented move, Microsoft announced that they will continue to support Windows Vista up to 2014. While Microsoft’s support for their operating systems terminates after 10 years, Windows XP’s support will be extended by another 3 years. Perhaps the decision was made because most of Microsoft’s business customers have not upgraded to Vista due to cost of upgrading, resource requirements, and lack of compatibility with older applications.
Microsoft released Vista in January of last year. But the company has apparently accepted the fact that many of its largest customers will skip Vista altogether and will continue using XP at least until Windows 7 becomes available three years from now, and possibly longer.
Microsoft will still be supporting the “downgrading” of Vista to XP, an option for Vista users wanting to get back to Windows XP.

Google have delayed the launch of the much awaited Gphone because of handset issues. The Gphone or Android as what others are calling it, is a mobile phone/smartphone powered by an operating system Google has helped design. It is initially scheduled for release in the second half of the year, but it is more likely to appear in the fourth quarter. Since Google has contributed to the operating system, a group of around 30 different partners have collaborated on the development of Android through the Open Handset Alliance, a multinational alliance of technology and mobile industry leaders. Meanwhile Google is continuing to woo software developers who, it hopes, will make applications that owners of Android handsets can download from the internet.

Logitech has unveiled its first Mac compatible webcam with autofocus technology and Carl Zeiss (the Logitech QuickCam Vision Pro webcam for Mac) optics. The new webcam is using a voice coil motor for its autofocus system instead of the usual stepper motor. Focusing is fast and fluid even from up close at 10 cm from the camera lens. The camera has a 2-megapixel sensor which helps in capturing video images in high resolution. It is assisted by Logitech’s RightLight Technology, which allows the webcam to adjust intelligently in dim or harshly backlighted situations.
You can use the new Logitech webcam with iChat or Skype and enjoy a VGA-quality video at up to 30 frames per second. The camera can record sharp video clips in the 720p high-definition (HD) video format (960-by-720 pixels). It it availabale in black-and-silver profile with a prominent built-in silver microphone. It will be available next month for around $130.
