Indilinx, a semiconductor maker has announced “Barefoot”, a solid state drive controller with 90-nanometer process technology. Allegedly the “fastest in the market”, barefoot is capable of 230MBps of read/write speed and supports the capacity up to 512GB with multi-level cell (MLC) NAND flash.

The controller supports multiple types of flash memory from Samsung, Toshiba, Hynix and Micron using SATA 2.0  Mass production of the Barefoot is planned for the fourth quarter of 2008.
