Olympus has announced the new Olympus Stylus 1050SW, a rugged, ultra-compact 10.1-megapixel digital camera that sports a 3x optical zoom lens  and a 2.7-inch screen. The Stylus 1050SW is shockproof, it is designed to withstand a 5-foot drop, bump or other mishap. It is also waterproof, giving you the capability of taking pictures as deep as 10 feet underwater. Aside from these features, the Olympus Stylus 1050SW is freezeproof (14°F/-10°C) giving you the capability to take pictures during winter without worrying about your camera.

The Stylus 1050SW features Tap Control which enables picture playback, shadow adjustment and flash mode just by tapping the top, back and sides of the camera.This feature is made possible by the 1050SW’s 3D accelerometer that detects the direction of the force on the camera’s body. Other features include face detection and smile shot, In-Camera Panorama, shadow adjustment technology, perfect shot preview, in-camera editing features, TruePic III Image Processor, LED illuminator and digital image stabilization.

The Stylus 1050SW will be available in black, gold, silver, pink and blue this October for $299.99.
