Dell Inspiron Mini 9 netbook

Dell has become the latest PC manufacturer who joined the netbook bandwagon by revealing the details of its Inspiron Mini 9 netbook. With design similar to other Inspirons, the 8.9-inch portable once rumored as the Inspiron 910 has a 1.6GHz Intel Atom chip and weighs less than 2.3 pounds. The Inspiron Mini 9  has features missing from other netbooks like a near full-size and spill-proof keyboard,  Wi-Fi and USB ports.

The basic model, priced at $349 will have a 512MB RAM, 4GB SSD, Ubuntu Linux, Wifi, 4-cell battery pack in a black colored chassis. You’ll have to add another $25 if you want the white chassis and if the 4GB SSD is not enough for you,  you can add $35 for the 8GB SSD, or $75 for the 16GB SSD. The Windows XP edition will be priced at $449 and will have a 1GB RAM, 8GB SSD, Bluetooth and Webcam. If the 8GB SSD is not enough for you, you can add $40 for the 16GB SSD.

The Dell Inspiron Mini 9 netbook will be available in the market starting tomorrow.

Asus Bamboo Notebooks

It is  a good sign that some companies are willing to manufacture environment-friendly products. ASUS has also joined the green bandwagon by launching their Bamboo Series notebook, a bamboo-clad line of notebook computers that is reported to be completely green  from conception, production, use and all the way to its recycling and disposal.

The Bamboo notebooks’ eco-friendly look is made from artisan-grade Moso bamboo casing and the technology used can extend battery life between 35% and 70%. Below are the complete specification of the ASUS Bamboo Series notebook:

Fujitsu Amilo Mini Ui 3520 netbook

Joining the netbook bandwagon, Fujitsu has introduced the Amilo Mini Ui 3250 in European markets. The Amilo Mini Ui 3250 sports an 8.9’’ 1024 x 600 display, Intel 1.6GHz Atom Processor N270, 1GB of DDR2 667 RAM, and a choice of 3600RPM 60GB or 4200RPM 80GB hard disks. Other features include WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, USB 2.0, ExpressCard slot, VGA out, integrated 1.3 megapixel webcam and a built-in microphone. The Amilo Mini Ui 3250 comes with a pre-installed Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition

The Amilo Mini Ui 3250 is priced at 399 euros.

ASUS N10 Netbook coming out?

It is expected that the new ASUS N10 netbook will be coming out after some photos of the N10 have been leaked on the web. The netbook does not carry the Eee brand, probably an attempt to introduce it as part of ASUS’ luxuxy division products.

The netbook’s casing will come in a more elegant, well-constructed and made from high quality plastic with a glossy finish. The N10 sports  an Intel Atom N270 processor, a 10.2-inch display with1024 x 768 resolution, Altec Lansing speakers, HDMI out, three USB 2.0 ports, VGA port and an SDHC slot. Other features include Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity,  a built-in webcam and fingerprint reader.

There are no words yet about the pricing and availability,  but it is  predicted  that the N10 will retail between $446 to $595.

Dell Vostro A860/A840 notebooks

Dell has announced two new notebooks under the Vostro brand aimed at the business segment. They are the Vostro A860 and A840 notebooks which run on the same technical specification and the only difference is the size of their screen. The A860 comes with a 15.6-inch HD ready LCD while A840 has a 14.1-inch widescreen XGA LCD.

The notebooks sport an Intel Core Duo or Core 2 Duo processors, an upgradeable 1GB RAM, HDD support of up to 160GB for A860 and 120GB for A840, DVD combo or DVD burner, Wi-Fi, LAN and an optional Bluetooth. Users can choose Ubuntu Linux with an Office Suite or Windows Vista.

The A840 will come in late August while the A860 will be available in early September.

Albatron Tee PC

If ASUS has Eee PC, Albatron Technology has a mini-tablet PC called Tee PC. Albatron Tee PC is not something that you can wear, it is a  mini-tablet PC in the form of a netbook. It has a 7-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 800 x 480,  an ARM926 400MHz processor,   128MB NAND flash Memory Storage and 128MB DDR memory. Other features include a built-in Bluetooth, WiFi, and a Swivel 1.3-megapixel webcam.The Albatron Tee PC comes with a docking station that enables the mini-tablet to have  USB ports, audio ports and integrated speakers.

If Eee PC stands for “Easy to learn, Easy to work and Easy to playPC, could it be possible that Tee PC stands for “Touchable, Easy to work and Easy to play PC? Hmmmnnn, what do you think?

There is no word yet about the pricing and availability date of the Tee PC as of posting time.
