28TEL, a leading mobile telecommunications service provider is launching a free international call service in the United States. The new service allows registered users to use their mobile phone to make free calls to over 20 countries without installing any software and without the need to connect to the Internet.
You will need to dial 1-213-3666099 (English), 1-213-3666000 (Chinese), or 1-213-3666090 (Japanese) and enter the number of the person you want to call. Once connected, 28TEL will send you a text message with a number representing the person you want to call. You can dial this local number from your mobile phone and the call will be connected to the destination number you registered.
You can also log onto http://www.28tel.com, enter your friend’s overseas number, and 28TEL will give you the local phone number for that person.
The call, however is not 100% free as you need to pay your telephone provider for the local rates calling the local number provided to you by 28TEL. Well, at least you are just paying the local rates rather than the international rates to call your friends abroad.
